Peter J. Dickerson

Pete Dickerson is a senior upstream oil and gas professional with over 35 years of commercial, transaction, financial planning and accounting experience in the industry. At Group 42, Dickerson acts as its London-based Special Advisor and Consultant on West Africa.
Prior to joining Group 42's team, Dickerson served as Head of Commercial, Planning and Economics for Tullow Oil Plc. For 13 years, during its dramatic growth from a small producer to FTSE 100 company, Dickerson was directly involved in all of Tullow’s business development activities and lead the organization’s acquisition and transaction team. Dickerson also served on the Tullow’s Excom, Senior Leadership and Crisis Management teams.
In 1993, Dickerson joined Lovegrove and Associates, a specialist upstream A&D advisory firm, as manager and later became director. During his time with Lovegrove and Associates, Dickerson was involved in over 100 projects for more than 40 clients in the upstream energy sector before the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) acquired Lovegrove and Associates in 1996. Dickerson continued to work as a director for CIBC and originated Tullow’s transformational acquisition of assets from British Petroleum.
Dickerson joined Sun E&P (now Oryx Energies) in 1988 as the Planning Manager for the U.K. and Europe. Shortly thereafter, Dickerson assumed the role of Planning Manager for its entire International E&P Division. Before Sun E&P withdrew from international ventures, Dickerson took on the additional responsibility of managing the accounting function of the division.
Pete Dickerson holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Chemistry and Business Administration from Kingston University.
