Editor-In-Chief of the San Antonio Business Journal, Tony Queseda, published an article focusing on Group 42-sponsored initiative, Choose San Antonio, and the organization's annual campaign at SXSW. The article, “Casa San Antonio returning to SXSW”, was featured in the February 3, 2017, issue of the San Antonio Business Journal, a regionally-anchored branch of the American City Business Journals (ACBJ). The ACBJ is the largest publisher of metropolitan business newsweeklies in the United States, with 43 business publications across the country reaching more than 3.6 million readers each week.

Choose San Antonio, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting this city’s opportunities and lifestyle to millennials and GenXers, will return this year to South By Southwest with its second installment of Casa San Antonio.

The annual festival in Austin is among the most well-stocked ponds for an organization like Choose San Antonio to fish for young talent.

Casa San Antonio, which will host three days of official and unofficial events during the festival, will be housed in a new venue for 2017 — a place called Half Step at 75 1/2 Rainey St. in Austin’s Rainey Street Historic District. In all, Casa San Antonio plans to host 11 sessions, 15 speakers and four marque SXSW events, which are aimed at showcasing the Alamo

City’s startup, entrepreneurship, tech and cybersecurity communities.

Meanwhile, Choose SA community partners are expected to host up to 15 networking events.

Choose San Antonio this week also launched a year-long social campaign called #iChooseSA, meant “to encourage San Antonio natives, transplants and boomerang community members to share their civic pride on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.”

Choose San Antonio was co-founded in 2015 by local business leaders Eric Bell and Kevin Peckham with initial funding and support coming from Group 42 and Lightning Jar.
