San Antonio voters overwhelmingly approved City Charter Amendment 2 in the May 9 city-wide elections. The Amendment, reinforced by the Sensible Pay for SA campaign, proposed an increase in San Antonio City Council and Mayor salaries. The proposed funds will come from existing city council budget dollars and no new tax dollars will be needed. Amendment 2 was designed to allow the salary increases to take effect immediately, applying for the mayor and council members elected.
A number of San Antonio community leaders rallied to support the Amendment including Group 42's Vice President of Corporate Development, Eric M. Bell. Learn more about his support for the initiative in the video below or read his originally published Op Ed.
